NucléAction, a European leader in doors & partition systems for nuclear environments, is developing know-how that responds to all the partitions needs of the main players in the nuclear sector.
Blast doors
A blast door is an airtight door that can withstand pressure generated by an explosion occurring either inside or outside the nuclear building.
- Explosion inside the building: NucléAction blast doors facilitate handling risks related to pressure generated by an accidental explosion inside the building. Their design is unique for large-dimension/2-hour fire protection doors due to the use of overpressure membranes. This enables them to be opened instantaneously, thereby reducing pressure within the building. Concrete structures thus remain intact, in spite of the force of the blast generated by the explosion.
- Explosion outside the building: Unlike the risk of internal explosions, the objective of NucléAction doors designed to deal with an external risk is to remain completely and totally closed in order to prevent destruction due to an explosion or accidental or intentional collision (explosives, projectiles, airplanes, etc.)
